Weekend Fling made a most promising debut. Bowling along happily in the front rank, she stuck on nicely in the closing stages and looks a ready-made future winner.
Blithe was the eyecatcher. Hampered at the start and taken out of the race, she was soon running without any company to help her. She still had only two horses behind her approaching the final furlong but, as the penny dropped, she fairly flew home down the outside, under hands and heels riding. She promises to pay her way.
Onenightinlisbon, who was badly hampered two furlongs out, ran well in the circumstances, but Silca Soprano had no apparent excuses.
